Polytechnicien (X 98), PHD at Stanford, chairman of the sister structure of the X foundation in the United States - Friends of Ecole Polytechnique - entrepreneur and international investor, Eric Setton, has made his passion and expertise, live video streaming, his spearhead and the success is total and very inspiring!
Researcher at HP Labs, then co-founder in 2007 of a first start-up, Dyyno, specialized in online video game streaming, he co-founded in 2009 with Uri Raz, Tango Me. Seizing the potential market even before the arrival of Facetime, they raised $280m, including $215m from Alibaba (Chinese Amazon). This record-breaking round propelled Tango Me to the rank of Unicorn in 2014 !
Tango Me, with its exponential growth, is now one of the world's largest mobile live streaming services.
A worldwide entrepreneur with a team of 200 people spread between the United States, Europe, Russia and the Middle East, Eric Setton is very involved and committed to the entrepreneurial adventure.
He invests in the development of entrepreneurship at X, in particular by co-initiating the X-Grant Silicon Valley Prize and by mentoring the community of prize-winners; more broadly, he contributes to fostering links between the French and American ecosystems.
